Rumors surfaced recently that the popular game Days Gone could be getting a remaster for the PlayStation 5. This news comes after Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb mentioned (23 minutes of the attached video) that Sony is working on a "less exciting" remaster for the PS5, which led many to conclude that it was Days Gone.
Days Gone, an open-world zombie-themed game, was originally released in 2019 for PlayStation 4, and later in 2021 for PC. Although it received mixed reviews, with a score of 71 on Metacritic, many players loved it for its atmosphere and story of survival in a post-apocalyptic world.
According to sources, the remaster could be announced at the upcoming PlayStation State of Play event. The remaster is expected to bring improvements in graphics and performance, taking advantage of the power of the PlayStation 5 console. Although there is no official confirmation from Sony or Bend Studio yet, fans are excited to be able to play this game again with improved visuals and faster loading times.
One of the reasons why Days Gone is believed to be that "less exciting" remaster is the recent controversy surrounding the game's creator, John Garvin, who criticized Bend Studio for using the character Deacon St. John in the game Astro Bot. Garvin is known for his controversial statements, including those in which he blamed "woke" reviewers for the game's poor reception.
Regardless of the controversy, the Days Gone remaster could be an opportunity for a new generation of players to experience this unique game. We just have to wait for the official confirmation and see what the upcoming State of Play event will bring us.
