Danish developer and creator of the name Elder Scrolls, Julian LeFay he died at the age of 59 years after a battle with cancer. Lefay was among the first Bethesda employees and the first one who persuaded them to move away from the famous series Dungeons & Dragons and create their own fantasy world.

He was responsible for programming The Elder Scrolls: Arena i head of development on The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall. He left the company in 1998, but he had a role consultant during the development of Morrowind. He returned to the video game industry 2019. when he founded indie team OnceLost Games whose first title is fantasy RPG Wayward Realms which is still in the development phase.
