Today, KOEI TECMO Europe and the development team Team NINJA announced how they will Nioh 3, the latest game in their “dark samurai” series of action RPGs, will be released on February 6, 2026 for PlayStation®5 and Windows PC via Steam. To celebrate the start of pre-orders, an announcement trailer for the story, directed by Shinji Higuchi, was released, showing the story that awaits fans.
U Nioh 3, players take on a role Tokugawa Takechiyo, koji je na putu da postane sljedeći šogun u burnom razdoblju Sengokua Japana. Story Nioh 3 will take place on a larger scale than ever before in the series. It will span a variety of eras and regions, including Edo Castle and the Tōtōmi region during the Sengoku period — which players were able to explore in the Alpha demo — as well as Kyoto, the Heian period capital, recently discovered. Players will be able to freely explore each period in an open environment, with beautiful and diverse landscapes. During a dangerous quest to stop his brother from plotting, Takechiyo will face various yokai characters and other powerful enemies while accepting the challenge Crucible.
During their journey, players will encounter characters from different eras, including Takeda Shingen, Minamoto no Yoshitsune i Minamoto no Yoritomo. Other famous characters that will meet Tokugawa Takechiya are Hattori Hanzo, Honda Tadakatsu i Saito Fuku. Actors Tao Tsuchiya i Kanata Hongo will give their talents to Nioh 3 as Himiko, the mysterious queen of Yamatai-koko, and Kunimatsu Tokugawa, respectively. Two behind-the-scenes videos have also been released to mark the announcement.
In addition to the standard edition, players can pre-order digitally Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the base game, a digital pre-order bonus ("Hellfire Warrior Armor set", "Hellfire Ninja Attire set", "Scampuss Furball Netsuke Charm accessory"), a Digital Deluxe edition bonus ("Infernal Weapons Set - 14 types", "Kodama Netsuke Charm accessory"), two DLC packs and a Season Pass bonus ("Chijiko Netsuke Charm accessory"). The Season Pass is also available for separate purchase and includes two DLCs and a Season Pass bonus (“Chijiko Netsuke Charm accessory”).
Furthermore, a SteelBook® edition is available for pre-order, which comes with the base game and two exclusive bonus DLCs. All editions of the game come with an Early Bird Bonus**, redeemable via the PlayStation™ Store and Steam®, available for a limited time after the game's release.
Nioh 3 is currently in development and is slated for release on February 6, 2026 for PlayStation®5 and Windows PC via Steam®. The game will feature Japanese and English voice acting, with subtitles in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
