In a creative experiment, a developer under the pseudonym GaryOderNichts was able to run Doom on the recently launched Nintendo Sound Clock, known as Alarmo. Although it is not a question of official functionality, this watch, which Nintendo presented at the beginning of October, apparently hides unexpected possibilities.
Nintendo Alarmo, an audio clock featuring sounds from famous Nintendo games, uses motion detection to ensure users get up on time. It wasn't originally meant to be played, but that hasn't stopped enthusiasts like Gary from pushing its limits. In a video posted on social media, Gary demonstrated using the dial on top of the watch and the side buttons to control the character and shoot enemies, bringing the legendary game to life on this unusual device.
Doom has been a meme for years due to its compactness of only 2.39 MB, which allows it to run on almost anything. While Nintendo has no plans to play games on the Alarmo clock yet, it seems the time is right for experimental projects like this while fans continue to eagerly await new information about the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
