In the world of video games, rumors and speculation often follow big projects, and the latest topic of conversation is Sony's online shooter Concord. According to some sources, this game reportedly cost a staggering US$400 million to develop!
Developed by Firewalk Studios and launched exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PC in August 2024, it turned out to be a complete failure. Namely, after eight long years of development, the game failed to attract the expected number of players and was sold in less than 25,000 copies!
Despite high expectations, these poor sales results caused Sony to withdraw the Concord from the market three weeks after its launch. The game only attracted 697 players on Steam at its peak, significantly less than competing titles like Overwatch and Valorant.
If the development cost rumors are true, Concord would be one of the most expensive video games ever developed. However, given the weak interest and sales, the question arises whether such an investment was justified.
