Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have released a new trailer and announced the release date for the Nioh 3 DLC. Hell Rising will be released on August 19 as part of the season pass, which also includes the Bloody Insurrection DLC that is expected to come in the future.
The protagonist and shogun Takechiyo embarks on a journey through time under the guidance of an unknown spirit. Takechiyo arrives in Edo, which has been taken over by the Crucible after the death of a future version of Takechiyo. On this journey, he will be aided by the one-eyed Yagyu Jubei and Spanish companion Rodrigo in a story that revolves again around Spirit Stones and an enemy who harbors rage against the shogun.
In addition to new allies and adventures, Takechiyo will have new equipment (Hoko & Shield and Ninja Hoko & Shield) that will give him an advantage over the new threat. This is a set of weapons that balances the offensive capabilities of the short spear with the defensive capabilities of the shield. Through the new gameplay mode (Enlightened One’s Journey), players are offered more opportunities for growth including: stronger equipment, additional Soul Cores, higher levels, and Soul Matching; this mode unlocks after you complete Shogun’s Journey.
Among the new equipment will be the Hundred Demon Realms Picture Scrolls, which allows you to repeat battles that you can customize (difficulty) in order to earn unique pieces of equipment, as well as effects. You can engage in battles solo or in multiplayer.
