Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds has become their fastest-selling game ever. In just three days, it sold eight million copies, which is a quarter more than Monster Hunter World. However, World is still the company's best-selling title, having sold 28.1 million copies as of January.
"After the game's announcement, we promoted Monster Hunter Wilds to audiences around the world, showcased it at various events, held beta tests and provided new information online and through the Monster Hunter Wilds showcase."
"As a result of our global initiatives, Wilds generated great excitement and sold eight million copies in three days, which is a record in Capcom's history. We remain firmly committed to satisfying fan desires by raising the quality of game development to create an engaging gameplay experience."
Monster Hunter Wilds has been well received by players and critics, achieving scores of 90 (consoles) and 80 (PC) on Metacritic. The score on PC is lower due to various optimization issues encountered by many players in the first days of release, but Capcom has promised to work on patches.
