The publisher indie.io and solo developer Michael Janisch have officially confirmed that the western horror survival game Hauntsville will arrive on PlayStation 5 on May 13.
After last year's release on Steam, the game is now coming to consoles for the first time, bringing a mix of survival gameplay, open world, and supernatural horror inspired by North American folklore.
Hauntsville takes players into a cursed depiction of the American Wild West filled with abandoned towns, isolated forests, and eerie creatures lurking in the shadows. Players will need to build shelters, hunt for food, craft weapons, and try to survive the nights in a world where danger comes from almost every direction.
A special emphasis is placed on co-op multiplayer, allowing up to four players to embark on the adventure together. The developers highlight that it is the combination of western atmosphere and survival horror that sets Hauntsville apart from most other survival titles on the market.
The open world of the game is inspired by the folklore and legends of the American West, and during exploration, players will encounter various supernatural beings and mysterious locations hidden throughout the Cursed West region.
Among the main features of the game are:
western horror atmosphere
survival gameplay with building and crafting
online co-op for up to four players
exploration of an open world
folkloric monsters inspired by North American legends
The game starts without resources and equipment, which means players will have to quickly learn how to survive in a hostile environment. The progression through building their own estate and surviving the nights should be one of the main gameplay motivations.
Hauntsville is currently available on PC via Steam, while the PlayStation 5 version is set to release on May 13, 2026.
