HORI has announced a new flight stick designed for the upcoming game Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, which is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC. This is an accessory aimed at fans of the Ace Combat series, as well as players looking for more precise control in other flight and simulation titles.
ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE Flight Stick comes with markings related to the new game and is intended as an accessory that should provide a better sense of control during fast aerial battles. HORI emphasizes that the device uses Hall effect sensors, or magnetic non-contact sensors, which should allow for smoother and more precise input, along with greater durability of the hardware itself. Additionally, there are separate throttle and brake levers, a control stick, and a special High-G button for quicker execution of sharp maneuvers.
Interestingly, the design is symmetrical, so the stick should be suitable for both left-handed and right-handed users. The device supports customizable buttons and LED lighting, and can also be used in the so-called Twin Stick Mode. For this mode of play, two sticks are required, but it is important to note that only one is included in the package, so the second must be purchased separately.
The new HORI flight stick is officially licensed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, while the process for Sony's license is still ongoing. The recommended price is €129.99 or £119.99, and the release is scheduled for October 2, 2026.
