Dimps and Bandai Namco have released a new trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 titled Welcome to West City. Through it, they introduced us to the story, characters, and showcased some gameplay.
Ten years after the last title in the series, Xenoverse 3 marks a new and bold chapter. In addition to the gameplay, the trailer shows what life looks like in the new environment called AGE 1000. Based on the legacy of the series, this is a completely new Dragon Ball experience that will allow us to create our own hero in an unexplored world born from the vision of the late author Akira Toriyama. Combining epic storytelling and adrenaline-fueled action, this title offers an unforgettable journey through a colorful new universe and diverse characters.
Players will explore and discover exciting new stories in West City, which is set in the period called AGE 1000. The trailer features Bulma and Gamma 1, who introduce the player to the Great Saiya Squad, and we also get a glimpse of life at West City University. Alongside familiar faces from the series, we will also meet some new ones (Brett, Lilica, ROM, and Tap).
The combat in this sequel will remain adrenaline-pumping but will bring new skills and powers of legendary fighters who protected the Earth before us. Players will be able to fly around West City, as well as across various other battlefields where they will use powerful ki attacks. Our choices will also have an impact, as selecting a race will provide various bonuses during combat. For example, the Saiyan race will have various powerful forms, while the human race will have a completely different gameplay style.
The Soul Assist system will enable powerful attacks with the help of mighty allies from the Dragon Ball series. It will also give us the ability to absorb the power of some of them (Krillin, Piccolo, Vegeta, Future Trunks, and Tien) to become even stronger during battles.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is set to release in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and XBOX Series X/S.
