Sega has confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog, the iconic speedy blue hedgehog, still has no permanent home. This statement comes after concerns about Sonic's housing status, which made many fans relieved to know that their favorite character hasn't slowed down and probably never will.

Sonic first appeared in 1991 on the Sega Genesis console, bringing speed and a distinctive personality that secured his status as one of the most recognizable figures in the gaming industry. Although many consider him a rival to Mario from the Nintendo universe, Sonic has always been portrayed as a wanderer – someone who never stays in one place for long. This aspect of his character is further confirmed in the TailsTube series on YouTube.

However, confusion arose after the release of the print version of the Sonic the Hedgehog Annual 2025, where it was stated that Sonic lives in the Green Hill Zone. This area is a classic location in the Sonic games, but fans have always considered it a temporary stop rather than a permanent home. This information upset some of the community, but Chris Hernandez, Sega's manager of Sonic mythology, quickly clarified the situation via social media.

Sonic remains an eternal wanderer

Hernandez confirmed that Sonic prefers the life of a drifter and that the information in the comic was the result of an error in an older draft that was accidentally published. He thanked fans for their attention and promised extra attention to consistency in Sonic's lore.

Sega's dedication to Sonic's mythology comes at a pivotal time for the iconic character. The recently released Sonic X Shadow Generations brings a remastered version of the classic game from 2011, while Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is expected in theaters on December 20, 2024. The new film promises to further expand the franchise's story, especially through the introduction of Shadow as an antagonist.

Bez obzira na izazove u održavanju dosljednosti priče, Sonic ostaje simbol slobodnog duha koji ne pripada nigdje osim na cesti – or stazi, in order to on reas. - prenosi GameRant.
