The publisher 505 Games has announced that it has acquired the intellectual property rights to the game WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers from the Chinese studio Leenzee Games. This is an important strategic move that further strengthens the portfolio of action RPG titles, as well as its presence in the increasingly significant Chinese market.
WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, a soulslike action RPG set in the Shu region, was released on July 24, 2025, for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. The game was financed by 505 Games, and since its launch, it has recorded very good results – over a million copies have been sold worldwide, while more than 130,000 concurrent players have been recorded on the Valve Steam platform. This places WUCHANG among the more successful soulslike titles in recent years.
With this acquisition, 505 Games gains full ownership of the IP, which opens the door for further development of the franchise through potential sequels, additional content, and expansion into other media. The company emphasizes that this is a long-term investment in a brand with global potential.
“The accumulation of our own IPs is crucial for our further growth. China is not only one of the most important markets but also a source of an increasing number of quality and original projects,” said Rami and Raffi Galante from the Digital Bros group, emphasizing their plans to further expand their presence and partnerships in that region.
The collaboration with Leenzee Games, according to available information, has proceeded without any open questions or disputes, and both parties remain on positive terms.
