Studio Spektar and Porcupine Parkour are Croatian development teams that jointly bring original and visually striking games. Studio Spektar, led by illustrator Sven Nemet, is known for titles such as Viktor: A Steampunk Adventure. Porcupine Parkour, based in Novska, is led by Zvonimir Barać, who previously worked on the projects Viktor and General Horse.

Their new joint game Cave Hikers was released on December 6, 2024, on Steam. It is an interactive adventure in 2D style, presented as a pseudo-documentary, in which three protagonists — warrior Aki, alchemist Valeriano, and mechanic Vuvo — travel through a cave world in search of the legendary “cave with an infinite ceiling.” The gameplay combines exploration, potion crafting, mini-games, and character interactions, along with a characteristic documentary-style narrative and a “Book of Caves” that records flora, fauna, and recipes. It is available in ten languages, including Croatian.

Another project that stands out is General Horse and the Package of Doom, released on June 23, 2020. This title uses FMV (Full Motion Video) techniques — real video sequences with actors — in the interactive adventure genre. Players take on the role of General Horse, whose task is to deliver the mysterious “Package of Doom” through dangerous space. Along the way, they must manage resources such as fuel, food, energy, and health, encounter random events, and choose strategies for negotiation, combat, or exploration.

Both games demonstrate how small domestic studios can create engaging, visually distinctive, and thematically bold titles. While Cave Hikers captivates with its relaxed and colorful underground world, General Horse impresses with its experimental approach and absurd humor.
