Outbreak Island is an open-world, single-player, survival horror game set on an isolated island full of secrets and dangers. Created by just one person, this game offers players a unique experience, an extraordinary atmosphere that can change in an instant, and tense, unpredictable gameplay.
After receiving a mysterious message from your missing father, you embark on a quest for answers, but soon discover that the island was once the site of secret experiments whose consequences still threaten anyone who dares to step onto it. During the day, you will explore the island, gather resources, search for food, fuel, medicine, and ammunition, and build a base on your father's farm, but when night falls, everything changes. A mysterious light illuminating the island reactivates abandoned machines and opens access to new areas, but at the same time awakens mutated creatures that try to stop you.
The game is currently in Early Access, so there are occasional issues with optimization, bugs, and some unfinished mechanics. Outbreak Island has a very good foundation and potential, but the key factor for its development will be further polishing, content addition, and communication with players. All of this can be fixed, but considering that the game was made by one person, I think we need to give the developer more time.
If you enjoy games that combine open-world exploration, base building, resource management, and a horror atmosphere, Outbreak Island is definitely worth trying. Although the game sometimes feels unfinished, I believe it could become a very successful title in the future. You can currently download it on Steam or Epic Games for €14.99, and the game has not yet been announced for consoles.
