Gears of War: E-Day is coming out on October 6, 2026, for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The game is developed by The Coalition, and the story is set fourteen years before the original Gears of War, at the moment when the Locust Horde first emerges from underground and starts the war for humanity's survival.
The focus is on Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago, and the game features a campaign built around the brutality of Emergence Day. Along with the story, multiplayer elements return, including Horde Siege and Versus modes, while Unreal Engine 5 is expected to provide a darker, more detailed, and technically ambitious return for the series.
