More than 11 years after Techland first opened the doors to Harran, the original Dying Light is available to all PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers starting July 21, 2026. The game will remain in the catalog for a year, giving new players plenty of time to get acquainted with the beginning of the series, while long-time fans can return to the city full of infected. Techland states that the franchise has attracted over 50 million players worldwide over the years.
“There has never been a better time to explore the world of Dying Light, whether you are returning to Harran after many years or entering the city for the first time,” said Paweł Kopiński, head of the Live Products department. The original game features Kyle Crane, voiced by Roger Craig Smith, and lays the groundwork for the story that continues in the upcoming title Dying Light: The Beast. On this occasion, Techland also released a new development blog dedicated to the reasons why the community continues to actively play Dying Light more than a decade after its release.
