Dino-Ducks Mayhem is Vampire Survivors, but with armed ducks.

There’s a good chance someone during brainstorming said: “what if we make Vampire Survivors, but with armed ducks?”. Fortunately, no one ignored them because Dino-Ducks Mayhem looks like one of those indie games where a run quickly turns into complete bullet hell chaos.

It’s a twin-stick bullet heaven roguelite game where you control a Dino-Duck while the screen is flooded with enemies, explosions, projectiles, and little duckling helpers that collect resources and automatically attack enemies around you.

During each run, you can recruit and upgrade ducklings, each adding new abilities, resource generation, and various combat bonuses. In other words, the game quickly turns into absolute buildcrafting chaos where you try to create the craziest synergy combinations.

It looks like the type of game where after half an hour you can no longer see your character due to the amount of effects on the screen.

The developer Duckosaurus Games particularly emphasizes replayability and experimenting with builds, which draws on Vampire Survivors and Brotato. You combine weapons, duckling support abilities, and various upgrades to create completely broken builds.

Visually, the game is colorful, fast, explosive, and it looks like the screen is constantly trying to survive its own particle system. That’s why it seems so fun.

The most interesting part is that the project is not backed by a random meme studio but by a team of veterans who have worked on games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Gears of War, Knack, and Hubris. And honestly, you can see that quite a bit in the gameplay and animation.

The full version of the game is expected to bring new enemies, additional Dino-Ducks, even more upgrades, local co-op, and an expanded meta progression system, which is a dangerous combination for anyone who loves “just one more run” roguelite games.

The demo is already available on Steam and you can sign up for the playtest.
