The indie studio Secret Mission Games has officially launched its debut title Mad King Redemption in Early Access on Steam. It is a 2.5D roguelite brawler inspired by classics from the golden age of the beat 'em up genre like Final Fight and Golden Axe, but with a modern approach to gameplay tailored for today's audience.
The game features fast and intense matches, aggressive roguelite progression, and the ability to play in local co-op and via Steam Remote Play. Players will battle hordes of corrupted enemies across two different biomes, face off against creepy bosses, and try to master the dark magic that drove the king to madness.
One of the main features of the game is the Corruption system, which allows players to gain special abilities and further strengthen their character during combat. Visually, the title combines 2D and 3D pixel art style, further emphasizing the retro vibe.
Mad King Redemption is now available on Steam for the price of 13.50 euros, with a 10% discount, while versions for Epic Games Store and GOG are announced for a later date.
