Apeer2 ITX case: when a computer becomes part of the workspace

Home / Tech / Apeer2 ITX case: when a computer becomes part of the workspace

Mini-ITX cases have been trying for years to reconcile performance and compact dimensions, but Apeer2 goes a step further and attempts to redefine the very role of computers in the workplace. Instead of the case being hidden under the desk or taking up valuable space, Apeer2 integrates it directly into the desktop and even into the monitor itself.

Design that changes the approach

At first glance, it is clear that Apeer2 is not a classic case. Inspired by an architectural approach to design, it emphasizes minimalism, clean lines, and functionality. Made of anodized aluminum, the case feels premium and industrial at the same time.

The biggest difference comes in the form of an integrated VESA mount. Thanks to it, the monitor can be mounted directly onto the case, making the entire setup a single unit. The result is a completely cleared workspace, without additional mounts and unnecessary cables.

Monitor and computer as a unified system

Apeer2 literally erases the boundary between the computer and the monitor. The VESA system supports standards of 75x75 and 100x100, with a maximum monitor weight of up to 10 kg, including curved models.

Three positions are available (379 mm, 419 mm, and 459 mm), allowing for ergonomic adjustment without additional equipment. The monitor can tilt, rotate, and even be used in a vertical position, which is especially useful for tasks like programming or content editing.

Compact, but without compromise

Despite its compact dimensions (226 x 216 x 484 mm), Apeer2 supports serious hardware. It is compatible with Mini-ITX motherboards, SFX and SFX-L power supplies, and graphics cards up to 370 mm in length (with certain height and thickness limitations).

This means you can easily build a high-end gaming or professional configuration within a relatively small case. An additional GPU holder and fork bracket system ensure stability and eliminate the problem of GPU bending.

Cooling and accessibility

Ventilation is addressed through perforated side panels that allow for natural airflow. A particularly interesting solution is the magnetic panels with integrated pogo pin connectors for powering the fans, which eliminates the need for additional cables.

The case supports two 92 mm fans mounted directly on those panels, and thanks to the open design and compatibility with custom water cooling (up to 90 mm CPU cooler height), stable temperatures can be achieved even under load.

Magnetic panels also allow for quick and easy access to components, which is a significant advantage during upgrades or maintenance.

Focus on organization

One of the key philosophies of the Apeer2 case is neatness. Cables are routed through predefined channels and holders, reducing clutter and improving airflow.

The result is a setup that looks almost “invisible,” with the computer no longer being a separate element, but part of the workspace structure.

Installation without frustration

The assembly process is simplified by a modular design. The internal frame can be fully assembled outside the case, making it significantly easier to install components.

Only after the configuration is ready is the entire assembly inserted into the outer case and closed with magnetic panels. This approach will be especially appreciated by users who frequently change or test hardware.

Conclusion

The Apeer2 ITX case is not just another “small form factor” model but a concept that changes the way we think about workspace and computers. The combination of minimalist design, integration with the monitor, and support for powerful components makes it an interesting choice for gamers, content creators, and professionals who want a neat and functional setup.

The strength of this case is not only in the specifications but in the idea: the computer no longer has to be hidden but can become the central part of the workspace.
