Solo developer Sørb announced Ignitement, an isometric 2D horde survivor roguelite that is set to be released on Steam later this year. The demo version will be available from May 28, 2026.
In Ignitement, players take on the role of a lonely fire shaman who enters his own soul through deep meditation to confront its lost and broken parts. The game combines top-down combat, roguelite progression, and a unique 2D fluid simulation system, which makes fire attacks feel more powerful and visually dynamic.
During 20-minute runs, players will traverse three different areas: Soul, Mind, and Heart. Each represents a part of the main character's inner world, shaped by grief, regret, and anger. Along the way, they will face hordes of enemies, collect soul coins, unlock new skills, curses, and masks, and battle bosses that symbolize the shaman's deepest fears.
Ancient masks play a special role, determining starting powers and playstyle. Some grant increased attack speed, while others rely on aggressive melee abilities, and during runs, active and passive skills can be combined, such as fire throwers, fire projectiles, summoning fire skeletons, or chaining fire and lightning attacks.
After a failed attempt, players return to the Overworld temple, where they can spend collected resources on permanent upgrades, new masks, skills, and additional difficulty modifiers.
