CRKD has introduced the Olive Drab Pro Edition, a new limited edition of its guitar controller designed for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
At first glance, it's just a new color, but the Olive Drab Pro Edition brings one important change compared to earlier models. After extensive testing, CRKD decided to remove the physical 9-mode dial, giving the controller a simpler plug-and-play approach. The idea is for players to get into the action faster, without additional setup before playing.
Despite the removal of the physical dial, advanced options are not gone. Through the CRKD companion app, game presets, control remapping, profiles, firmware updates, and additional controller customization are still available.
The Olive Drab Pro Edition is officially licensed by Xbox and Gibson, and its design is inspired by the legendary Gibson Les Paul guitars. The controller features EZ Glide mechanical fret buttons, a Hall Effect strum bar with haptic feedback, and support for wired USB-C connection, low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless connection via the included USB dongle, and Bluetooth.
CRKD states that the controller is compatible with games like Fortnite Festival, Rock Band 4, Clone Hero, YARG, and the upcoming Stage Tour. The Stage Tour is mentioned as an important part of the future of CRKD's line of guitar controllers, and the Olive Drab Pro Edition marks the first step in its further evolution.
The recommended price is 149.99 euros, or 134.99 dollars and 129.99 pounds. The Olive Drab Pro Edition is available immediately, but with an important note: CRKD will produce only one batch of this version, meaning that after it sells out, this model will disappear from the offer.
