The new adventure brings five playable heroes, cooperative puzzle-solving, and a completely new time-slowing power.

One of the more long-lasting cooperative series is soon getting a new installment. The studio Frozenbyte has confirmed that Trine 6: Together in Time will arrive on September 17, 2026. for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and PC.

This means Trine 6 joins an already crowded September release schedule, which is slowly becoming one of the most exciting gaming months of the year.

Like the previous installments, Trine 6 remains true to the formula that has made the series recognizable - a combination of platforming, exploration, and cleverly designed puzzles that are most fun to solve in the company of friends. This time, the game brings five playable heroes among whom players can freely choose, while the entire adventure can be played with up to four players. A special emphasis is once again placed on the cooperative experience. The developers emphasize that all puzzles are designed with the idea of collaboration among players, where success will often depend on combining different abilities and coordinating the entire team.

The good news is that there will no longer be strictly defined solutions tied to a specific character. Each puzzle can be solved with any hero, which should allow for greater freedom and experimentation during gameplay. Of course, players who prefer solo adventures have not been forgotten. Frozenbyte confirms that the puzzles are also tailored for single-player gameplay, so the entire campaign will be fully playable without the need for cooperative partners.

The biggest gameplay novelty comes through a new ability called Time-Slow. All characters will be able to temporarily slow down time around them, which will help with precise jumps, avoiding dangers, solving more complex puzzles, or simply creating a little space to breathe during more chaotic situations. It sounds like a mechanic that could bring a new dimension to the already creative gameplay of the series.

There is also support for online crossplay, meaning players will be able to go through the adventure together regardless of the platform they are playing on.

Trine may have never been among the biggest blockbuster franchises, but over the years it has built a loyal audience thanks to its beautiful fantasy atmosphere, excellent puzzle design, and rarely seen focus on cooperative play. If Frozenbyte manages to maintain that level of quality in the sixth installment, fans of the series could get another very enjoyable fantasy adventure for cooperative play this fall.
