Ubisoft has confirmed that the long-awaited sequel Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development, despite a major reorganization this year that led to the cancellation of numerous projects. Beyond Good & Evil 2 remains part of Ubisoft's strategy focused on open-world adventures.
The original game Beyond Good & Evil from 2003 gained cult status due to its story and unique world, although it never achieved significant commercial success. The sequel was first announced in 2008 and has been in development for over 15 years since then, going through long periods of silence and uncertainty, which is why many consider it one of the longest-developed AAA titles in the industry.
