Recent reports suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 may not have a physical version on launch day, although the game is scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
According to an article published on the Polish PPE portal, and translated into English on Video Games Chronicle, publisher Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games are considering that GTA 6 may initially release exclusively digitally — without discs or physical copies on launch day.
The main reason for such a decision is reportedly to prevent early leaks and spoilers: physical copies of games often arrive in stores before the official date, allowing a few players to obtain the game early and post story details or gameplay online.
According to sources, the physical version of the game could be released after the digital launch, but it is speculated that this could be only a few weeks later or even in the first half of 2027.
Rockstar and Take-Two have not officially confirmed these plans, so the information is considered unverified but credible insider rumors.
