This morning around 5 AM in Edinburgh, a fire broke out in the Rockstar North building. Scottish firefighters were urgently called to Holyrood Road after the alarm went off. "We were called at 5:02 to participate in the firefighting operation on Holyrood Road. A total of three vehicles responded and participated in the firefighting, and we finished at 9:21," said a fire department spokesperson.
The cause of the fire was a malfunction in the heating system, which was later officially confirmed by a Rockstar spokesperson who thanked everyone for their quick response and the firefighting efforts. Rockstar North is the main development studio for the Grand Theft Auto series and is currently working on the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI. The studio has also recently been in the news and media, as 30 employees have formed a union.
However, not everything is so bleak as Rockstar has once again shown how much it values its fans. A man named Anthony Armstrong, who works at Ubisoft Toronto, shared a story about a family member who is battling cancer and has 6-12 months left, and the well-known studio allowed him to play the game early.
