On their social media, Lego announced yesterday with a short video that they will have new sets based on the Nintendo franchise Pokémon. Unfortunately, we didn't receive too much information, just that the first sets will be released in 2026.

The toy rights for the famous monsters were held by Lego's rival Mega, whose collections included characters like Charizard and Pikachu, as well as locations (Pokémon Stadium) and the Pokédex device. Julia Goldin (head of the marketing department at Lego) said the following about the collaboration: "We are excited to collaborate with such a great brand that has a deep and dedicated fan base. We believe that through Lego play and the adventure that the world of Pokémon brings, this partnership will create new opportunities for trainers and builders."

Gaku Susai from Pokémon Company added: "Working with the best team at Lego Group, we have seen their complete dedication and passion for this innovative project that will delight fans. We can't wait to see how Poké and Lego fans will react in 2026."
