The second edition of PSX brings several interesting PlayStation themes that marked the beginning of June 2026. Sony continues to clean up the PlayStation Store from problematic releases, Insomniac Games explains how players will be able to mitigate the brutality of Marvel’s Wolverine, and the latest State of Play shows that Sony's format for digital presentations has an increasing reach.
PlayStation Store: Sony continues to clean up digital shelves
Sony is continuing its stricter policy towards so-called shovelware games on the PlayStation Store. After the digital store was criticized for years due to the large number of cheap, generic, and often very low-quality releases, the latest move is aimed at the publisher Webnetic.
According to available information, Webnetic was one of the publishers with the largest number of games on the PlayStation Store at the beginning of the year. In January 2026, it had 1,222 titles in its catalog, and now its presence on PlayStation platforms is coming to an end. The publisher confirmed through its official profile on the social network X that its collaboration with PlayStation is ending and invited players to purchase titles before they disappear from the offer.
This move is part of a broader Sony cleanup of the digital store, which has been ongoing for months. The goal is to reduce the number of titles of questionable quality, especially those relying on quick Platinum trophies, repackaged mobile concepts, or minimal development effort. For the PlayStation Store, this should mean a clearer offer and better visibility for quality indie games in the long run.
Marvel’s Wolverine: blood and brutality can be mitigated
Marvel’s Wolverine has already established itself as one of the most brutal games that Insomniac Games has made after its first concrete gameplay showcase. Logan's confrontations are depicted bloodily, aggressively, and without much mitigation, which fits the character's persona and fan expectations.
However, players who do not want such an explicit level of violence will have an additional option. Game director Mike Daly explained that Marvel’s Wolverine will have an accessibility setting that can turn off or mitigate the depiction of blood and brutal details. According to him, violence has been an important part of the game from the start, but the team is aware that such a depiction is not for everyone.
This option does not change the fact that Insomniac wants to create a dark and uncompromising Wolverine game. It is more about an additional adjustment for players who may be bothered by excessive amounts of blood. Marvel’s Wolverine is set to release on September 15, 2026, for PlayStation 5.
State of Play: June presentation became the most viewed in the series
This month's State of Play from Sony has proven to be a great success in terms of viewership. In less than 12 hours, it surpassed the previous record and reached 4.2 million views, making it the most viewed State of Play to date!
The previous record was held by the State of Play from February 2026, which had 3.4 million views. The new result shows that Sony's format of shorter digital presentations has become an increasingly important channel of communication with players, especially during a time when traditional large trade show appearances no longer play the same role as before.
