Nintendo has announced that it will change the name of its online store. My Nintendo Store will become Nintendo Store starting May 27. The last major change this store underwent was in February 2022 when it received its current name, and it offers games, hardware, and various items related to Nintendo franchises (clothing, stickers, and more).
Despite having a new name, the Japanese company stated that the store will continue its operations without changes to services and products. Given the time zones, this news was first confirmed by Nintendo Japan and the UK, and we believe that Nintendo of America will officially announce it in the next few hours. Originally, My Nintendo Store was designed as a rewards program in March 2016 when the mobile game Miitomo was released.
Players can complete various tasks through mobile devices or games on the Switch that reward them with points, which they can later use for digital rewards such as wallpapers, items for Nintendo games, or various clothing items.
