After the successful two-day edition last year, the Blend: Film & Games conference has been confirmed for October 23 and 24, 2026, in Zagreb. The conference is organized by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), through its project Games Croatia, and the Zagreb Film Office, in partnership with the academic partner, Algebra Bernays University.
Blend: Film & Games is one of the few conferences in the world that systematically and programmatically connects the two most dynamic branches of the audiovisual industry – film and video games. Last year's two-day edition attracted over 600 registered participants, and the program included more than 20 panels and lectures featuring speakers from Croatia, Belgium, Canada, Italy, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Sweden, the United States, Austria, and the United Kingdom.
At last year's keynote lectures, the audience was thrilled by Thierry Van Gyseghem, director of animation for the successful video game Baldur’s Gate 3, Martins Upitis, animator of the Oscar-winning film Flood, Damjan Mravunac, composer of music for many successful video games such as the Serious Sam series, and many others.
This year's edition will bring an even richer international program focusing on key themes that shape the future of the Croatian and European audiovisual sector. In addition to expert panels and lectures, visitors can expect workshops led by prominent global and local experts, as well as networking opportunities with professionals from both industries.
Blend: Film & Games is not conceived as an ordinary conference, but as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and the development of new projects that position Croatia on the map of the European audiovisual industry.
