The Talos Principle 3 has been officially announced, and the legendary puzzle series from the Croatian studio Croteam is entering its third and final chapter. After more than a decade of developing the story about artificial intelligence, humanity, and consciousness, the developers say it is time for the final journey.
“We see the entire trilogy as one game in three chapters”
In the announcement, the developers revealed that they had been thinking about where the story leads and what they want to tell through future installments even during the development of the original The Talos Principle. That’s when the idea for the complete trilogy was born.
“We often see the entire trilogy as one game divided into three chapters. Three moments in the history of robotic humanity that together create a bigger picture,” said Croteam.
The original The Talos Principle from 2014 captivated players with a combination of challenging puzzles, philosophical themes, and an atmospheric world, while The Talos Principle 2 further expanded the story of a civilization of artificial intelligence that emerged after the extinction of humanity.
Anomaly changes the rules of reality
The third installment will once again take players into a mysterious world full of crumbling temples, unusual flora, and abandoned scientific facilities. The central part of the story revolves around a mysterious area called “Anomaly,” a place where the laws of physics no longer apply.
According to initial information, the game will bring completely new mechanics and even more complex puzzles, and the developers particularly emphasize that they have paid a lot of attention to the design of the Anomaly itself and the future that robotic humanity has built after the events of the second part.
The main protagonist has no memory of how he ended up in this world and will try to reconstruct his own past and discover what is actually happening through solving puzzles.

No release date yet
Devolver Digital has not yet revealed a release date, but it has been confirmed that The Talos Principle 3 will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC.
If the initial details are anything to go by, we are in for an ambitious conclusion to one of the most unique puzzle series of the last decade and the last great philosophical journey through the world of artificial intelligence, consciousness, and reality.
