A horror series that we first heard about is getting a third installment?

Dora is no longer in, Amanda is the law!

Personally, I must admit that it is very difficult to keep up with news from the gaming industry today. Our editorial email receives about 100 emails daily from PR companies, game publishers, and developers, while at the same time, a large number of games are released daily on the monopolistic Steam. According to the latest data, over 20,000 games were released on Steam in 2025!

It is really hard to attract attention, especially for smaller titles or games from not particularly popular genres. The sad truth is that many games end up forgotten. Once a new unknown project sees the light of day, in the first weeks, whoever bought it, bought it. As time goes by, lower quality and weaker titles sell poorly. Even discounts don't help!

Therefore, my surprise was greater when I saw that the horror adventure Amanda the Adventurer is getting a third installment! A look at Wikipedia reveals that it is a series of puzzle horror games inspired by Dora The Explorer! I must admit, I missed the news related to this peculiar series. Obviously, I am not the target audience of players interested in such games. What is particularly interesting is that this is the third and final installment. It seems that the game has been available on PC since October 2025, and now it's time to appear on all current and less current consoles.

As can be seen from the trailer, it is a horror adventure that graphically resembles CGI animated films from the mid-1990s (for example, Toy Story, which I watched in the cinema when I was very, very small). From what I've seen, Amanda is an ideal game for the youngest who would like to dive into the world of creepy horror adventures. The duration is 3 - 4 hours, ideal for completing in one or two sessions during the night.

Amanda the Adventurer 3 will be released on May 28, 2026, for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X/S, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, XBOX One, and good old Nintendo Switch, which holds good memories for me, and on which I am currently playing Dragon Quest VII, a game that Square Enix did not provide us for review purposes. And yes, you read that right, this game will actually be released on PlayStation 4. While so-called hardcore gamers (and not movies) are eagerly awaiting the release of next-gen consoles (PlayStation 6 and Xbox Next) in 2026, some publishers and developers are still releasing games for the good old PlayStation 4, a console that was released in 2013.

When I find the time, for all the curious and PlayStation 4 console owners, I will prepare a list of the most interesting games coming out by the end of 2026. As for Amanda, it will be interesting if we receive a review code.
