Studio Spektar and Porcupine Parkour, two Croatian video game development studios, have released their joint pseudo-documentary adventure game Cave Hikers. The game is now available on Steam for PC and supports ten languages, including synchronized voices and subtitles in Croatian. Porcupine Parkour, a start-up from the PISMO powered by A1 Business Incubator, received support from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre for the development of its newly released game.
Cave Hikers is a humorous and colorful adventure that follows three protagonists – warrior Aki, alchemist Valerian, and mechanic Vuv – in their quest for the mysterious “cave with an infinite ceiling.” Players explore a fantastic underground world, solve puzzles, collect hidden items, brew magical potions, and enjoy various mini-games.
Cave Hikers is inspired by the games of Amanita Design (such as Samorost, Botanicula, CHUCHEL) and games from the hidden object games (HOG) genre. Additionally, the game is fully localized into Croatian, including voice and text translation.
Cave Hikers is designed as a game for all ages, from 3 to 103 years old. Thematically and narratively, it primarily targets younger generations, but contains numerous references that adults will understand more easily.
