The Swiss indie studio Lakeview Games has announced Slot Machine Gun, an unusual roguelike shooter coming to PC in 2027. The game was showcased with an animated trailer for the Steam Bullet Festa, which takes place from June 8 to June 15, 2026.
At the heart of the game is the Slot Machine Gun, a weapon that is half rifle and half slot machine. Each reload triggers a new “spin” and creates a fresh combination of weapons, effects, and chaotic synergies. This means that every battle can turn into an opportunity for a complete game-breaking moment, but also a risk that the player must learn to control.
Lakeview Games announces over 1000 possible combinations, new characters with special abilities, various weapons, and effects that can stack into increasingly wild builds. The game combines roguelike progression, deckbuilder elements, bullet hell action, and top-down shooting, but the main gimmick remains the feeling that every weapon reload can change the entire rhythm of combat.
The story is set in a crime-ridden chempunk city, where players will encounter its unusual inhabitants, fight against enemies and bosses, and gradually uncover the origin of the living weapons they carry. Besides combat, greed and risk assessment will play an important role, as players will be able to take on tougher challenges for better loot or spend earned money on machines that aren't always fair.
Slot Machine Gun currently seems like a game that puts its wildest idea front and center: not only is it fast-paced shooting, but every reload turns into a new bet.
