Create music with everyday objects!

The unusual indie project called OFFBEAT attempts to combine music production and tycoon gameplay into a rather original whole. It puts players in the role of a composer who takes on various jobs and builds their reputation in the music world, but with one big twist – the instruments are not classic synthesizers or guitars, but everyday objects like garden gnomes, kitchen utensils, office supplies, children's toys, and many other unusual items.

The goal of the game is not only to create music but also to bring music production closer to a wider audience. The development team aims to lower the barriers to entering the world of audio production through a more relaxed and fun approach that does not require expensive equipment or prior experience.

Particularly interesting is the fact that all compositions made within the game can be automatically exported as WAV files and saved locally on the computer. This means that players can further edit, share, or use their songs outside of the game itself.

On the occasion of the game's announcement, the frontman of the Whetstone studio, Ed Sibley, also released a new single titled “Not Your Uncle’s Ringtone,” which was entirely composed and arranged within the game OFFBEAT.

The game is expected to arrive in Early Access later this year, while a demo version has been announced for the near future.
