Bloober Team announced during the Summer Game Fest that they are working on a new game based on the SAW film series. Together with Paramount Games Studio, they announced that they are preparing another project based on the famous series, which is Star Trek.
Star Trek Shadow Frontier is a sci-fi psychological horror planned for PC, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, and is expected to be released in 2027. The story follows Ro Laren (Michelle Forbes), who was part of the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard, and after crashing on an unknown planet, finds herself in a labyrinth that distorts her memory and threatens to sever her connection to reality.
"We have long admired the deep and atmospheric experiences that Bloober builds, keeping players on the edge of their seats. For Star Trek Shadow Frontier, it was essential to collaborate with a studio that can honor the legacy and take it into the future. We have great confidence in Bloober to deliver a game that will be worthy of the Star Trek name while also bringing something bold and new to the beloved franchise," said Shawn Kittelsen, Vice President and Head of Creative and Production at Paramount Games Studio.
