World of Tanks: HEAT is taking a clearer shape with a new video series “Foundations,” which explores the game's world, Agents, and vehicles. The first episode, titled “The Source of HEAT,” is available now and provides insight into the settings and intense armored combat that forms the core of this title.
The story of World of Tanks: HEAT is set in an alternative post–World War II timeline, where experimental technology and armored warfare keep global conflicts under control. War operations take place across diverse landscapes, and elite operators along with experimental armored vehicles represent the last line of defense for peace before global chaos fully escalates.
At the center of the story are High Efficiency Armored Teams (HEAT) — elite Agents tasked with preventing conflicts before they start. Each Agent controls up to two specialized tank platforms that are not just weapons, but extensions of the Agent themselves. These vehicles are fully upgradable and deeply customizable, allowing players to shape their equipment and playstyle exactly as they see fit.
Customization pertains not only to abilities and tactics but also to aesthetics — the appearance of tanks and equipment evolves alongside the Agent's progression, enabling each player to create a unique combination that reflects their combat style.
“The Source of HEAT” also offers a first look at the core game modes within World of Tanks: HEAT. Each of them focuses on dynamic, objective-driven combat:
- Conquest (10v10): Teams fight to capture and hold multiple zones across the map. Territory control is key to victory.
- Kill Confirm (5v5): Players must collect tokens that appear after eliminating enemies or allies, adding an extra tactical element of risk and reward.
- Hardpoint (5v5): Battle for control of a single rotating base, where teams alternate attacks and defenses of key positions.
- Control (5v5): Players aim to continuously hold a control zone; the first team to successfully do so wins.
The series "Foundations: The Source of HEAT" is just the beginning of the video story that will detail Agents, vehicles, maps, and systems that define World of Tanks: HEAT through upcoming episodes.
