Sold out exhibition space at Gamescom

Home / News / Sold out exhibition space at Gamescom

For the first time ever

The exhibition space at Gamescom this year is completely sold out for the first time in history. Last year (2025), the visitor record was broken with 357,000 attendees, while the number of exhibitors was 1,568 (from 72 countries), surpassing the 2024 figure of 1,462, greatly aided by the decision to increase the exhibition space to 3,000 square meters.

Due to high demand for 2026, the organizers announced that all available space is sold out. The German Games Industry Association and Kölnmesse have already started working on plans for 2027, so we should see even more exhibitors, and as they say, an improved experience for visitors. Many already confirmed names include: Konami, Tencent Games, Embark Studios, Level Infinite, Giants, and Aerosoft.

Bigger than ever

"The sell-out of Gamescom is a strong signal for the entire industry! We just started expanding the space in 2025 and we are even more pleased with the increase in demand. At the same time, we are working to improve Gamescom and looking for new formats for fans and the community. It is precisely this connection between business and community experience that sets us apart from others," said Tim Endres in an official statement.

Felix Falk from the German Games Industry Association added: "It is already clear that Gamescom 2026 will be the biggest yet. The demand from exhibitors is higher than ever before. Fans can look forward to a rich program - live in Cologne and via live streaming. Gamescom Opening Night Live, the expanded Gamescom awesome indies show, and the premiere of Gamescom GDQ are just some of the events that will heighten the anticipation for the biggest gaming fair.

Gamescom Opening Night Live will take place on August 25 starting at 8 PM, while Gamescom 2026 will run from August 26 to 30, and our editorial team will also be there.
