Monster Hunter Wilds is officially in development for Nintendo Switch 2
Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds is officially in development for Nintendo Switch 2. The release date for the Nintendo version has not yet been announced, and more information is expected to arrive later.
This is a significant confirmation for owners of the new Nintendo console, especially since the Monster Hunter series has had a strong audience on Nintendo platforms for years. Wilds originally released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in February 2025, and is now being prepared for the hybrid format of the Nintendo Switch 2 console. Capcom also introduced a major expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, which is planned for 2027.
Resident Evil Veronica is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027
Capcom presented Resident Evil Veronica at the Summer Game Fest in 2026, a modern remake of the classic Resident Evil: Code Veronica. The game has also been confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, with a release planned for 2027.
The original Code Veronica first released in 2000 on Dreamcast, and later came to GameCube and other platforms through the expanded version Code Veronica X. The new Resident Evil Veronica once again follows Claire and Chris Redfield, but in a contemporary rendition that continues Capcom's series of modern remakes of older Resident Evil titles.
Attack on Titan 3 confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have announced Attack on Titan 3 for Nintendo Switch 2. The new installment is described as the conclusion of the action series based on the popular manga and anime by Hajime Isayama.
The game will cover the story from the beginnings of the Survey Corps to the final events of the Attack on Titan saga, and for the first time will introduce Nine Titans into the battle. Koei Tecmo is announcing an upgraded movement and combat system using omni-directional mobility gear, as well as new character and story-related content. More details will be revealed on July 1, 2026, during the official broadcast.
EA Sports Madden NFL 27 arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 in August
EA Sports Madden NFL 27 will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms on August 13, 2026. The cover will feature Caleb Williams, quarterback of the Chicago Bears.
The new game brings the Persona Engine, a deeper Franchise mode, Superstar G.O.A.T. Career Journey, and changes to Ultimate Team. For Nintendo Switch 2, it is particularly interesting that EA is announcing graphical options, including Visual Pro and Performance Pro modes. Performance Pro is expected to allow gameplay at up to 60 frames per second, which would be a significant step forward compared to the previous Madden on the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
Nintendo is preparing a European revision of the Switch 2 console
Nintendo has confirmed that it is preparing future compliant versions of the Nintendo Switch 2 console for the European market due to new European Union battery regulations. Starting February 18, 2027, certain devices sold in the EU will need to allow for easier battery replacement during the product's lifespan.
Future versions of the Nintendo Switch 2 console will have special model numbers and an additional OSM label on the packaging. According to available information, a significant visible difference in design is not expected, but the goal is to enable easier access to the battery without the classic disassembly of the console.
Final Fantasy VII: Revelation is officially announced for Nintendo Switch 2
Square Enix has officially announced Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, the final part of the modern Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. The game has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, with a release planned for spring 2027.
Revelation continues the story after the events of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and is expected to conclude the new interpretation of Cloud's battle against Sephiroth. For Nintendo Switch 2, this is one of the most important confirmed RPG announcements, especially as it shows that Square Enix does not treat the platform merely as a place for later ports, but also as part of the main release plan for major projects.
