Flying Rat Studio has announced Pit Panic, a challenging roguelike 2D platformer set to release in July 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.

Pit Panic puts players in the role of a curious archaeologist who must escape from a dangerous Aztec temple. The game combines fast-paced platforming movement, environmental puzzles, battles against ancient bosses, and a constant race to the surface. According to the developer's description, the goal is simple yet demanding: survive and climb upwards while everything around the player collapses.

One of the main elements of the game is a mysterious hook, a tool that allows digging through blocks, swinging, uncovering hidden treasures, and overcoming physics-based obstacles. Players will be able to utilize various environmental reactions, from turning sand into glass to using bridges as weapons.

Pit Panic features four different biomes, each with its own puzzles, enemies, and visual style. Flying Rat Studio announces over 1000 handcrafted levels that will be combined with each attempt, as well as the ability to create custom levels for other players.

After escaping the pit, players will be able to compare times with others, participate in daily challenges, and earn special rewards.
