Supercell's mobile hit Clash of Clans will get its own series. This was announced by streaming giant Netflix, stating that the series is in pre-production. The story will follow a dedicated viking who must gather a group of misfits to defend their village and tackle the comedic situations of war.

The series producer will be Fletcher Moules (Entergalactic, Agent Elvis), who also directed some of the animated videos for Clash of Clans. Joining him as executive producer will be Ron Weiner (Silicon Valley, 30 Rock, Futurama, Arrested Development), while animation will be handled by Canadian ICON Creative Studio.

John Derderian, vice president of animated series at Netflix, said the following about the collaboration: "Clash has been a global phenomenon for a decade and is filled with humor, action, and unforgettable characters that are perfect for adapting into a series. With the team from Supercell, Fletcher Moules, and Ron Weiner, we are bringing the fun, chaos, and spirit of the Clash world to a new format. We can't wait for both old and new fans to experience the chaos."

Curtis Lelash from Supercell added: "We are excited to collaborate with Netflix to present a new version of this world. Just think of the epic battles, irresistible barbarian mustaches, and humor that you love. Fans have been eagerly awaiting a series based on Clash, and now we can finally say it will happen."

If judging by other adaptations based on popular franchises, we can confidently say that Netflix seems to have a new hit on its hands.
