Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is coming out on January 12, 2026, for PC, developed by Brigada Games and published by Devolver Digital. The game combines inspection mechanics similar to the hit Papers, Please with zombie survival and base management. The game quickly attracted the attention of the audience when a demo version was released at the end of May last year. The demo allowed players and content creators to try out the game before its release, generating a lot of video content on social media. The gameplay is likely the reason for the game's popularity. Players take on the role of a government official at a border checkpoint, where they decide the fate of survivors trying to enter the safe city. With the help of advanced tools like X-ray scanners, stethoscopes, and medical hammers, they must detect signs of infection or smuggling. Every decision has consequences. Survivors can be allowed into the city, sent to quarantine, or eliminated if they are obviously infected. Beyond the checkpoint itself, the game expands into base management, where you oversee resources like food, fuel, medicine, and electricity, as well as defense systems against zombies. During attacks, players control armed drones to defend the complex from zombie hordes. A free demo version is currently available on Steam, allowing players to try out the basic mechanics of inspection and quarantine. It has also been confirmed that the game will be available through the GeForce NOW cloud gaming service in January 2026.
