Square Enix has announced the SQUARE ENIX GAME CONTEST 2026, a new major competition for the development of original video games with a total prize pool of 6 million US dollars.
The contest is open to developers living in Japan, and Square Enix is looking for completely new and original projects aimed at mobile devices and the PC platform. With this, the company aims to encourage the development of new ideas and find creators who could bring fresh concepts beyond existing franchises and well-known brands.
Applications for the SQUARE ENIX GAME CONTEST 2026 will open on December 15, 2026, while the deadline for project submissions will last until March 15, 2027.
