At the beginning of December, Rockstar Games released an update in GTA Online titled A Safehouse in the Hills, which brought back Michael from the GTA 5 story and luxury villas. However, the biggest surprise of the update was the addition of the Mission Creator tool. Rockstar described the Mission Creator as a detailed and comprehensive tool that allows players to design and publish their own missions using advanced mechanics, custom objectives, placeable characters, and numerous other options. Instead of positive reactions, the tool quickly became a source of dissatisfaction within the GTA Online community. The most criticism was directed at Rockstar's strict moderation. Several users received bans for using real names, certain real-life events, specific poses, and other content deemed inappropriate. Here are a few examples:

The mission images you see above are still available for bookmarking on Rockstar Games Social Club at the time of writing this article, but it is only a matter of time before they are removed. If you plan to create your mission with the latest mission creator, the actors or mission plot must not match any real person or event. Users on Reddit have also shared their experiences with bans and inappropriate missions.

Additionally, players point out that the Mission Creator is extremely complex to use and burdened with technical problems, including bugs with NPC and object spawning, unexpected changes in flight mode, as well as strict memory limitations that prevent the creation of larger and more ambitious missions. On the other hand, Rockstar is trying to prevent abuse of the system, such as AFK farming and exploiting missions for quick profit. As a result, the Mission Creator has become a point of conflict between players' creative ambitions and developers' need for control and game balance.
