Taipei Game Show 2026 will take place from January 29 to February 1 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, and today the layout for Indie House has been officially announced. According to the organizers, the Indie House has been expanded by more than 20% compared to last year, marking the third consecutive year of record growth and highlighting the strong creative energy of independent game developers worldwide.
The Indie House at Taipei Game Show 2026 is sponsored by Smilegate STOVE and includes 190 indie developers and publishers from 23 countries and regions, featuring more than 250 indie titles. The program includes unreleased works in development available for early hands-on demo versions, as well as highly praised fan-favorite titles. In addition to on-site presentations, participating games will also be available for online sale on STEAM and STOVE platforms with discounts of up to 90%, allowing players who discover games they love at the fair to immediately support the creators by purchasing them.
The Best Taiwanese Indie Games Alongside Global Hits
Taiwanese indie developers have achieved remarkable results in recent years, with many games receiving strong praise from players around the world. The participation of leading local studios is particularly enthusiastic. Among the highlighted titles are Legend of Mortal (a wuxia-themed RPG with life simulation elements) developed by Obb Studio Inc., which has gained a reputation for having the “ugliest protagonist in gaming history”; the dark fantasy pixel-art action game Rubinite developed by CupDog Games with support from GameWorks Ventures Co., Ltd.; Word Game (Team9), an internationally awarded title that recently launched its Japanese version and is now bringing its new title Word Game World; and the emotional series OPUS — all available for play on-site.
The international list of exhibitors is equally impressive. The Japanese retail giant PARCO is participating for the first time through its publishing label PARCO GAMES, while the Top Game Creators Academy, a new generation creator development program led by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA), is also joining the fair for the first time.
Pocketpair will present the phenomenal hit Palworld along with five newly released titles. PLAYISM will showcase the locally developed game Homura Hime, while SHUEISHA GAMES brings several anticipated titles, including BAKUDO and ANTHEM#9, along with the premiere of another major new title at the event. Additional highlighted titles include the viral roguelike action game Vampire Survivors from British developer poncle; the PvE top-down extraction shooter Escape from Duckov (Team Soda under the Bilibili umbrella); and the ARG-driven horror game No Players Online from Belgian studio Beeswax Games — a game that continues to spark discussions among Western communities as players uncover its secrets.

Global partners bring 40 indie titles – Taipei Game Show supports local students
The organizer emphasized that Indie House has become a platform that reflects the global indie game industry as a whole. With the collective participation of two leading Asian indie events — BitSummit (Japan) and Busan Indie Connect Festival (Korea) — the Global Indie Game Pavilion welcomes seven strategic partners from six countries, including SXSW Sydney, XP GAME SUMMIT, Montréal International Game Summit, Lithuanian Game Developers Association, BCN GAME FEST, gamescom latam, and VGChile. Together they bring 40 representative indie titles from their regions, allowing players to experience diverse creative visions while providing developers with valuable opportunities to connect with international organizations and global expansion.
Taipei Game Show continues to strongly support both local and global developers. Indie Game Award 2026 Winner’s Pavilion will allow players to try out the best indie titles selected by an international jury. Meanwhile, the newly introduced Student Area has attracted teams from eight universities and colleges across Taiwan, highlighting the strong participation of upcoming local talents. Student booths are provided to the organizer free of charge, aiming to increase the visibility of outstanding projects, encourage new talents, and bring fresh energy into the game development ecosystem.
Smilegate STOVE is this year's main sponsor of the Indie House and manages the STOVE Online Showcase to actively support the global expansion of the indie game ecosystem. The Indie House Showcase is further supported by LENOVO and RAZER, providing top-notch equipment for an impressive and quality gaming experience for all visitors.
