Wildlight Entertainment announced yesterday that after 45 days from its release, they will shut down their PvP raid shooter Highguard, with the servers closing on March 12.

Highguard was released on January 26 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series and received negative reviews due to its system requirements as well as the gameplay itself. Additionally, on February 11, news emerged that most of the team had been laid off, leaving a smaller number to continue supporting the game.

Wildlight Entertainment also addressed a special message regarding the shutdown, stating:

"Today we share difficult news. We have made the decision to permanently shut down Highguard on March 12. Since its release, over two million players have entered the world of Highguard. You have given us feedback, created content online, and believed in what we are building, for which we are grateful. Despite the dedication and passion of our team, we have not been able to build a community that would support the game in the long term. The servers will remain available until March 12. We hope you will join us one last time to enjoy the matches and support us."

They concluded the statement with: "The team is excited to announce one more update before the shutdown. We will be adding a new Warden, weapons, progress for your profiles, and skill trees. A full list of updates is coming, and our goal is to release the update tonight or tomorrow morning. From all of us at Wildlight, thank you for playing, supporting, and being a part of the Highguard story."
