Sandfall Interactive announced that they have been awarded the Order of Arts and Letters which was granted to them by the French Ministry of Culture. This honor is given to individuals for their contribution to French culture and the promotion of French cultural heritage and is one of the most significant.
“We are honored to receive this recognition, and our deepest gratitude especially goes to our team who shaped this world and to the millions of players who brought it to life. We hope that our journey will inspire all those who wish to take that step and create their own artistic work.” – stated Sandfall Interactive upon receiving the award.
This is not the first time France has awarded this honor; in 2006, it was awarded to Michel Ancel (Rayman, Beyond Good and Evil) and Frederick Raynal (Alone in the Dark). Two members of Nintendo (Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma) were also honored. Sandfall has now become the first team to be awarded at all.
