Fans and media can proudly and excitedly welcome Otaku Pop Fes, which will debut in the Philippines on April 25 and 26, 2026, at Okada Manila, bringing together anime, music, cosplay, and live entertainment into one impressive celebration.
Announced during a press conference held in the Glass Ballroom of Okada Manila, Otaku Pop Fes is a multi-day event designed to provide an authentic experience of Japanese pop culture through licensed content, carefully curated exhibitions, and performances by Japanese and local artists.
Multi-day celebration of anime and music
The event will take place at two locations within the Okada Manila complex. The ballroom will host exhibition anime booths and a stage with programs, while Cove Manila will serve as a space for cosplay activities, presentations of Japanese pop culture, and evening concerts.
Authentic Japanese pop culture for fans
At the press conference, one of the key representatives of Otaku Pop Fes, Mr. Osaki Akinori, shared the vision for the event.
“Otaku Pop Fes was created to bring authentic Japanese pop culture closer to fans in the Philippines. We want to create a space where people can enjoy anime, music, and live performances in a way that is sincere and respectful of the culture,” he stated, emphasizing the desire to foster trust and anticipation among fans and media.
The event will include licensed Japanese intellectual properties, themed booths, interactive activities, and stages tailored for long-time fans as well as those who are just getting acquainted with Japanese pop culture.
Live performances and special guests
One of the main attractions of Otaku Pop Fes is the live music program. During the press conference, a promotional video featuring the group UNIS was shown, hinting at the types of performances that can be expected at the concerts in Cove Manila.
The organizers confirmed that the festival will host a combination of Japanese performers, local musicians, and special guests, with additional names to be announced in the coming weeks.
Support from partners and stakeholders
During the press conference in the Glass Ballroom, Okada Manila – the official venue partner – reaffirmed its support for the festival and commitment to organizing top-notch entertainment and cultural events. The opening speech was delivered by Kenji Sugiyama, Director of Corporate Governance and Administration at Okada Manila, expressing enthusiasm for this collaboration.
“Okada Manila is known for its exceptional blend of Japanese excellence and Filipino hospitality, making it the ideal place for an event that celebrates the rich world of Japanese pop culture,” said Sugiyama. He added that the resort looks forward to providing an unforgettable and enriching experience for all visitors of Otaku Pop Fes.
