According to estimates from some industry analysts, the new generation of consoles could break the $1,000 barrier, primarily due to increasingly expensive components, supply chain disruptions, and changes in the hardware market. Additional unrest among players has been caused by the high prices of Valve's new Steam Machine line, which have reopened the question of how accessible future consoles will remain.
However, not all analysts are equally pessimistic. Some believe that Sony, due to its brand strength, larger production scale, and market position, must ensure that PlayStation 6 does not become a luxury product for a narrow circle of buyers.
