Nintendo Switch 2 has arrived, along with numerous improvements that make it an attractive choice for all video game enthusiasts. If you're still undecided about purchasing, here are the key reasons why Switch 2 is a worthwhile investment.

Significant hardware upgrade

Switch 2 features a larger 7.9-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution, HDR10 support, and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, allowing for a clearer and smoother image. In dock mode, the console supports 4K output at 60 fps, thanks to the new Nvidia Tegra T239 processor and 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM, which is a significant leap compared to its predecessor.

Redesigned Joy-Con 2 controllers

The new Joy-Con 2 controllers attach magnetically, making it easier and more secure to connect. They include an optical sensor that allows the controllers to be used as a computer mouse in supported games, and a new "C" button for quick access to the GameChat feature.

Enhanced communication capabilities

The integrated microphone and new GameChat feature enable voice communication directly through the console, without the need for additional apps or devices. This feature facilitates collaboration and communication in multiplayer games.

Larger internal memory and faster storage

Switch 2 comes with 256 GB of internal memory, which is eight times more than the original Switch. It also supports microSD Express cards up to 2 TB, allowing for faster game loading and more storage space.

Improved compatibility with previous games

Most games from the original Switch are compatible with the Switch 2 console, including both physical and digital versions. While some games that use the IR sensor may not be fully functional, most titles work without issues.

New exclusive games and content

With the launch of Switch 2 comes a range of new games, including Mario Kart World. Additionally, Nintendo Switch Online expands its offerings with GameCube games available exclusively on Switch 2, such as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and F-Zero GX.

Advanced sharing and collaboration features

The GameShare feature allows game sharing with another nearby console, facilitating local multiplayer without the need for additional copies of the game.
