Electronic Arts showed players yesterday what the future of the well-known series Battlefield will look like. In a brief 10 seconds, the studio working on the game was showcased, along with a new testing program created for the Battlefield community.
"Battlefield Labs is a space for us to test concepts and experiences that we want to share with you, our players. We want our community to play a key role in the future of Battlefield, and this is an opportunity for many of you," said Electronic Arts.
They also added: "This is an unprecedented moment for the series. We will start by testing the foundations of gameplay such as combat and environmental destruction. After that, we will move on to balancing and feedback on weapons, vehicles, and gadgets, which will ultimately lead to merging parts into complete maps, modes, and multiplayer."
"And we will also test Conquest and Breakthrough, which are the heart and soul of our well-known warfare experience, but BFL will be a place for discovering new ideas and improving the foundations of Battlefield, such as our class system to create deeper and more strategic gameplay."
You can sign up right now, and invitations will be sent to players in Europe and North America, with plans to open testing for other regions over time.
Four studios will focus on the future of the franchise, and they will be: Dice (multiplayer content only), Motive (multiplayer maps and single-player content), Criterion (single-player only), Ripple Effect (new experience for players).
